Biography
OUTCAST
Dajmin could never bring himself to believe that Hate was the only true power, and unlike most of his Dark Elf brethren, he refused to kill the good aligned races on Norrath. This made the Tier'Dal elders furious, and he was outcast from Neriak, the city he had called home.
For many years he walked alone throughout the lands of Norrath, helping those in need, finding shelter where he could, until one night in a Freeport bar he overheard a drunken Human talking about him.
One fistfight and sword to the throat and the Human told Dajmin everything he knew.
THE TRUTH
Although Dajmin had always known his mother was a Dark Elf enchantress, one who used illusions to spy on neighbouring cities, he was shocked to discover his birth father was a Human paladin from the city of Freeport. His mother, in her line of work, had to be open-minded enough to listen to other opinions and beliefs, as she had to pose as one of their own until her mission was complete, and the two had fallen in love. His father was a devout follower of Mithaniel Marr and spent his life striving to help those in need around him.
When the Tier'Dal elders discovered this relationship, Dajmin's father had been killed, his head set on a pike outside Neriak as a warning to others, and as a reminder to Dajmin's mother of what she had done. The elders then forced his mother to marry a Dark Elf ShadowKnight and raise Dajmin in his image. She dispaired at the thought, but could see no other way around it so reluctantly agreed, hoping that her child would have his own beliefs and not those forced upon him.
REDEMPTION
Disgusted by what the elders had done to his natural father, Dajmin vowed to continue helping the people of Norrath in any way he could, trying to redeem himself and shake off any remaining taint of the Dark Elf reputation.
This did not prove easy. Along the way, other races were not so open-minded, and he was often forced at knifepoint, by Rogues hired by the city guards, to leave and never return.
Eventually his reputation spread and many of the good aligned races began to warm to him. Even the noble Human city of Qeynos cautiously welcomed him into their ranks and for some time Dajmin made this his home.
INNORUUK'S CURSE
The people of Norrath were not the only ones to witness Dajmin's behaviour: Innoruuk, the Lord of Hate and creator of the Dark Elves was also watching. From his realm he watched as Dajmin slowly broke down everything he had spent countless centuries building, his fury rising with each good deed.
Unknown to Dajmin at the time, Innoruuk placed upon him a curse, one which caused his good deeds to be erased from the memories of those he helped. Upon returning home after a day protecting the hills from packs of gnolls, the Qeynos guards almost killed him, but spared his life on the condition that he leave their city forever. Once again he was alone.
Dajmin was certain that a curse had been placed upon him, but he did not know by whom. One night he met Innoruuk in a dream, a torrid nightmare in which the Hate Lord laughed at him, telling him his quest was a waste of his talent. Innoruuk promised that when all of Norrath had turned their back on the cursed hero, he would embrace the anger, seek out the Lord of Hate and spread their wrath throughout the land.
Dajmin refused to give in to Innoruuk, and swore that day that he would find him and destroy him forever, thereby lifting the curse and allowing him to continue his life in peace.
Innoruuk laughed at this pledge, and continued to watch Dajmin's fall from grace from the safety of the Plane of Hate. He smiled as the people Dajmin helped only minutes before drove him from their presence. It was a fine form of torture, and one in which Innoruuk took great delight.
INNORUUK'S VOICE
Dajmin's hatred grew and grew, and Innoruuk could feel it. Hate was his essence, and the more of it there was the stronger he became. Dajmin didn't know it, but because of this, his natural affinity with the Hate Lord was also growing stronger...
