Lately if I click the NPC link it takes an excessively long time to load. Up to a minute or 2 before it gets to where it finally loads the page where I can enter the name.

I pushed an update yesterday hoping it would fix the issue but it did not. I will revisit this next week.

This is now fixed, I will cleanup the NPC database soon but at least now it should come up relatively fast.
