I've come to the decision, after using this service for five years in EQ, that Blizzard views Magelo as a third-party program violating their TSU (spoke with a GM).
I'd like to close my account.
How do I go about doing it?

Unless you are a premium user just don't use it any more. The only problem arises when you use Magelo Sync to update your character. Seeing as you only have Registered User under your name that leads me to believe you are not a premium member so there shouldn't be much else for you to do other than never use Magelo Sync again.
Though I am surprised you actually got a confirmation from GM one way or another when every thing else I've read has them avoiding it. You either got a ballsy GM to give you an answer or you made it up yourself.
Just a thought.

Odd, others have had conversations with GMs where the response was that this program is not in violation of any agreement. In any case, with 30,000 users using Magelo for WOW you would think there would have been more noise about people getting their accounts banned if that was the case...

That is one ballsy or misinformed GM, Blizzard has so far gone out of their way to not state one way or another. Though you can just uninstall Magelo and stop using it. As was pointed out if Blizzard had banned people just for using Magelo Sync there would have been a pretty big outcry on the forums.
But you're free to do what you wish and what has been suggested already should do what you wanted.
