This has been like this for some time but I my character’s facial portrait does not appear in my signature? It’s a blank box where the character’s face should be. It used to be there months ago but went away. Any ideas? (Note: Im not talking about the Avatar; Im talking about the actual signature that also displays your characters portrait on the far left side).

Bump.
I've been copying the url from the portrait in the official WoW forums and setting that as my portrait to circumvent this but this is really annyoying. Please fix. Also please add support for transmog as it the character only shows gear without the transmog.

The 3D model is currently not available in the website and for your profiles, avatars and signatures.
We are working on it and we will keep you posted as soon as it will be back.

The 3D model is back! The quality still needs to be improved but the good news is that your character's 3D is now back in your profiles, signatures and avatars.

I just did a new sync after coming back to WoW and my portrait does not show up in the sig, nor does the 3D model work either

Sorry, the server crashed few days ago and we just launched it again. The 3D is back.

the last update on this problem is from some time ago, I have to say I find it somewhat strange that it takes this long to fix something that used to work well. unless of course either wow or the portraits have a low priority for you, then it makes a lot of sense.
I'm not a paying customer of course, so I'm not entitled to anything. but I do use the avatars as my signature on various sites (which is indirect advertisement) and I always told people how wonderful this site is for making signatures.
however I have been getting remarks on my signature being broken for some time now. I'm sorry to say that I'm considering switching them out for custom artwork. I don't like it, because I love my avatars. it's nothing personal, it's just logic :/

We are currently working on the patch for Mist of Pandaria, and as you can imagine this is huge. Fixing the problem with the 3D is part of the issues we need to address. I understand your frustration and I can only ask you to be patient as we are doing the best we can with the resources we have.
In the meantime, you can update your signature and avatar with your own image if you want to avoid showing an empty portrait. In My characters > Edit > Signature and avatar tab, you can indicate an image URL for your portrait instead of the automatic 3D. You can also choose to not display the portrait in the signature at all.
Of course I understand you would prefer displaying your 3D but this is an alternative you can use waiting for our fix. We will keep you posted on our progress.
