Introducing the archetype system for character profiles
Many of you who play World of Warcraft have characters suited for specific roles in the game such as tanking, healing or damage dealing. The archetype system attempts to identify these roles for your characters and set up how your profile can be viewed accordingly.
The archetype system is a new feature we hope will help present your character with its most desired characteristics. It automatically determines the most important stats for your characters and builds the main page for your profile based on specific properties detected on your character, such as talent builds or druid forms. Your characters will be assigned an archetype as listed below:
- Tanking
- Healing
- Melee Physical DPS
- Ranged Physical DPS
- Spell DPS
- Melee Hybrid DPS
With the archetype system, we hope to present your characters with statistics related to their roles shown prominently in your profile. Using this system, you will be able to see more clearly what your stats will be like in-game, compare the statistics with other profiles more easily, and show what class role your character is adept at. And remember, you can still see all your stats in the breakdown tab.
Sync with the archetype system
Most class roles are automatically detected with your character talent point allocation. However, there are a few exceptions:
Warriors: Your stance is used to define your archetype. For example, tanks will need to sync in defensive stance to get tanking archetype.
Druids: Your form is used to define your archetype. For example, you can sync your character in bear form for tank archetype.
Death Knights: Your presence will be used to define your archetype. For example, sync in frost presence will yield tanking archetype.
Updated statistics
We are proud to announce that with the exception of the Death Knight class, all character statistics in your Magelo profile are now almost all handled correctly. Druid forms and warrior stances are handled correctly and the profile statistics will reflect these values. Additionally, all statistics have their tooltips just like in game now. We would like to thank everyone for your patience with us so far and hope to have the statistics corrected for our Death Knights soon as well as the very few discrepancy we still have.
French localization
Earlier this year, we mentioned about the localization of Magelo for different languages. Now you can view the Magelo website in French – simply toggle the French version by clicking on the language bar at the top right side of the website. Localization for other languages supported by the official game servers is in the works, please look forward to it!
Website improvement
We made some changes to our website related to how traffic is handled, now you should be able to load pages from our database much faster.
New flash profile feature tour
We have a new neat profile feature tour which presents the profile in details as well as its customization and its signature. Have a look.
We hope to finalize our stats work very soon (given that hopefully, the patch 3.1.0 will not mess up everything... crossing fingers...), we will update our signature maker to include all the stats we have now and then we will start working on alternate profiles.

The achetype thing sounds great, maybe now I will have my tanking stats on my DK.
My only complaint with this new patch..
"French localization"
In a normal situation that is awesome but now I have a problem... I'm American, live in France. My computer is French and unfortunately because of that my OS is also in French. I HATE it, but I can't really change it.
Well now Magelo is also in French (after this patch), needless to say I HATE it.
Is there anyway we can toggle the language? It's already bad enough my OS is in French, I'd prefer if my software wasn't.
EDIT: DK stats not working, but I just saw in the above post that was already mentioned/addressed. So I'll let it go.. for now..

Well I guess it's time to learn and practice French
Joke aside, go to your account preference and choose English as your language. Then everytime you are logged, the website should be automatically in English.
By the way, do you know that you can also set your browser to ask for english content on all the websites you visit ?
- IE: Tools -> Internet Options -> General Tab -> Languages :
- Add English if it's not there already
- Move it to the top
- Firefox: Tools -> Options -> Content Tab -> Languages :
- Add English if it's not there already
- Move it to the top
Then when your browser will contact a website, it will ask for english content first if it's available.
As the barbershop hairstyle and your DK, work is in progress.

I have English on my browsers I have already set that up. My problem is with the syncing PROGRAM. It is all in French. And while I can read enough French to get by when it comes to very specific complicated stuff I'm lost. Is there a way to toggle it with the program?

Hi AnexPMS,
It's due to the operating system being a French OS, apparently. Our team will check and see if there's any workaround to this little issue. We'll keep you posted.

A good change, but needs some tweaks imo. If I forget to sync in bear form, it counts me as a healer, even though my talents are fully feral. Is there any way to make it also take talents into account, also?

Hi, Snuzzle. As for a Druid, it would be better to identify your character whether she is a tank or a healer before you sync. The cat and bear form Druids share the same talent tree which makes it difficult to differentiate between a tank and a melee DPS.
If you have any suggestions to differentiate between them, we would appreciate your input in the suggestion forums.
