We just introduced our Gear Planner to help you manage and plan the path of your character.
If you have any suggestions or found any glitches while using it, please tell us here. Help us improve this feature! If you report a bug, as the Gear Planner is quite complex, please make sure to include the step by step guide to reproduce the bug.

Hi Balgorra, we might need to update the list of enchants to fix this. Could you tell us which specific enchants you would like to have on your tanking set please (chest and back slots)?

I have a suggestion. It would be nice to have ways to filter in and out certain gear. For example if I just hit 80 and want to plan my gear there is really no point in having to sort through 100 raid items for an upgrade when most of that gear is not obtainable until I get smaller upgrades from heroics and badges. Or also if my upgrade is a Sons of Hodir rep item that I need exhalted for. Have a way to filter that out so your not seeing a bunch of rep items that you cant get because you dont have rep with a certain faction.

Hi Elemenope,
Thanks for your feedback, filtering upgrades by sources (quest vs loot vs purchasable etc..) is definitely high on our TODO list. If you don't want to see the top gears you can't really get right now, you can use the max item level slider to hide those. I guess may be it would be useful to be able to set a default value for a given character so you don't have to adjust the slider on all slots...
As for the reputation thing, it's a bug, if you don't currently have the required reputation, you shouldn't see the item in the upgrade list unless you toggle the "Show all items'. This will be fixed very soon.

I'm curious, does the upgrade list and such work like armory's or do you actually use a Rawr based system for your gear planner?
If it's just simply armory made easy for your Magelo characters then it seems kind of pointless to me

Hi Tariean,
To complement what Erycil said, I would say that our system is pretty close to Rawr from a complexity point of view under the hood and what the system goes through to come up with an upgrade list that fit your archetype, your level, your professions. For me, even if I am obviously biased, the beauty of our system is that it looks simple from a user point of view while being complex behind the scene.

The developers have done an excellent job with this particular application. I find it convenient to plan ahead rather than just "going on the fly".
This is by far the best gear planner I have come across and allows me to conveniently view alterations in stats etc.
However, I do have one little quibble. As a plan I really do need access to a "Roadmap". I have noticed that this is currently unavailable. Any particular reason why and the expected date on which the function will return?

The right-up column of the gear planner, which shall be showing expertise, hit rating, haste rating and so on (PVE features), now only shows health, agility, resilence and so on (PVP features).
I have posted in Chinese (Traditional) forum, but it seems that posts in English forum would be seen earlier.

We are aware of the issue and it has been fixed. We will update the website soon. Sorry about the mess up.
You will be happy to know that we are currently working on a feature that will allow you to choose a custom list of stats to display instead of the current setup.

I'm having an issue with the planner, it's currently listing my Frost Spec Deathknight as a Tank... while I do have a tanking set of gear and talents, and though I DO need to get my tanking gear fixed up together I need to finish getting my Heroic/Pre-raid DPS gear together. I'm primarily a DPS, and with my current gear I need to find upgrades for that, and not my meat-shielding spec.

Hi VezRoth,
I answered you in your other topic already
Anyhow if there is a chance that we can't determine for sure your archetype, for example if you are a feral druid or in your case, a deathknight, you can always switch to another archetype in My Characters -> Edit -> Identity Card
In your case, You can switch to another presence than frost that will automatically switch you to DPS.

Very good, but i think it needs a few more filters... if i click a blue slot gem to upgrade, i get all colors of gems. If I click a 2h weapon I get 1h as well

Is there a way to change what a character is? On my DK it says Melee DPS and only shows DPS gear, but he's a tank. All his current gear has def rating on it, all my enchants and gems are stamina or defense, but still shows me as DPS so I cannot pull up any kind of tanking gear to plan with
