I just joined and upon trying to add a character it is hung up on updating sense yesterday
I see no option to stop this process and try again anywhere.

Hello punkinwjen,
There was a hotfix applied on the game on October 9 so they may have changed something that cause your issue.
We will have a look and we will keep you posted.
