Since the Armory sync and the magelo sync aren't going to work with WoW any time in the foreseeable future, why not make an option to create a character like we used to be able to do in Magelo on EQ before Magelo sync was introduced. It would be so simple to just make the magelo for WoW since it's much simpler to do than EQ which has all the AAs and skills/spells to figure out.
The only challenge would be to get the reforging correct.
It really wouldn't be that hard and your subscribers might be temporarily satisfied. This inability to do anything for months upon months is really quite ridiculous.
edit plus now we have WoW's issue with the armory not working due to the server connections.

Magelo Sync and the Armory Import are back and running since few weeks now. We apologize for the long wait. We will make sure those kind of situation will not happen again in the future.
To reply to your question, we cannot offer a manual profile creation because we will not be able to verify the information you display. On our other game websites, you still need to sync your character once before manually updating it. We need at least to make sure the character you are created exists in the game. So the minimum is to validate the identity of this character and only Magelo Sync can do that.
Now, the real issue here is our bad management of the last game updates. If we handle them correctly, meaning in few days as we used to do, there will be no need for such tool. And this is what we really want to do at the moment. Let see how it goes.
