Since my previous topic was closed without an answer to my question I am reposing it, this time could you answer the question rather than just locking the topic please?
As I asked in my original post, I would really like a way to hide my characters name as I don't want my character's name and server to be common knowledge, but I like to be able to show off my character's progress without having to reveal who I am in game when using public forums.
Is there some way to do this currently? If not, could this a feature that can be enabled for us that value our privacy?
Thanks in advance!

Hello ns7979,
Currently as our channel for World of Warcraft is still in Beta 1 phase, we do not have such a feature to hide your characters' identities. Our EverQuest channel does allow users to change the Identity Card of your character (this includes your character name, title, and server; however, exactly how these features may be implemented in our plans for World of Warcraft is still being considered. It will be likely that the features you mentioned may be offered in our Beta 2 phase, however, we cannot say for certain.

I really hope it's something you consider doing.
Personally I would be happy to pay some sort of monthly fee to keep my character's name private but be able to display the armory information, gear, etc.
I think that you will find that there is a large number of people out there willing to pay for a reliable, quick, and easy way to keep their armory information up to date without having to give away what server they play on, or their character's name.

Any updates on this? Or when Beta phase 2 is set to launch?

We've just launched a major update with many bug fixes so I'd say we might have to wait for some time as we're still working on the Beta 2 features. With Beta 2, there will be a few other surprises that you may find useful, and it's going to be worth the wait.
It's best for us to refrain from mentioning an exact time estimate in case something unexpected comes up. Sorry for that
