Hi Lolanya,
I'm really sorry but at this time we do not have a Mac or Linux version of Sync.
The Mac support is not planned yet, it would require a lot of effort as Sync do not run as a Wow Addon, it is system-dependent.
As we just enterred our beta phase, we're putting all our efforts on bug fixes. I hope we will be able to handle Mac version in the futur, but as I said, there's no plan for it right now.
That being said, there's chance we'll offer Mac users the opportunity to create their characters manually from the website, we'll keep you informed.
Best regards

This system is pure 100% crap.
It should be run without the need for an executable client, of which, there is no guarantee that it is not a trojan or a keylogger of sorts.

Magelo doesn't use addons, therefor it needs a client to do it's thing. (That and addons can't upload data)

Darkcrystal,
you have to trust any program you run on your computer. Magelo is not new, it always worked that way for EverQuest. Users gave us their confidence, and we're deeply thankful to them.
If you have any doubt about Sync, you're free to not using it, that's your choice.

just seconding the mac request looks great would love to try it even if it's the "through" the website option.
Keep up the good work.

I'm absolutely waiting on a Mac option - through the website would be fine if that's what it takes. I got all excited and signed up only to realize that I wasn't going to be able to use Magelo after all! I suppose I should have read a little closer first, but I'm eager to make use of my account at some point in the future. The guild options alone would really help me and my guild (most of which, of course, are Windows users - it's just me that's the problem! Doesn't it just figure.) I don't know how much time, if any, you currently have devoted to this idea, but I can safely say that there are quite a few people out here who would really appreciate the time and energy to make it happen! We Mac users may not be as common as Windows users, but we really appreciate it when companies take the time to include us in their plans, and we're more inclined to stick with those companies that do in the future. Anything you can do will be appreciated!

Same here, Queen! I totally came on here and got excited for it only to find that there's only the PC version. So sad! I was really amped for it too, it looks super cool. I've gotten so used to there being increasing availability of Apple oriented programming alongside Windows programs that I didn't even think twice.
That being said, as a former and future employee of Apple, I know first hand the number of users switching over every day. It's a smaller slice of the computer using community right now, yes, but it's growing and you're excluding a lot of users by not having any sort of Mac product. It wouldn't be hard to hire on some Mac developers and it's not hard at all to develop on the Mac OS X platform, I have friends who do it all the time and it usually ends up being way better than the windows version.

Add another voice looking for a Mac version of Magelo synch. Get with it! 8% of the North American consumer market is now Apple.

I'm with Apple on this one. I haven't even bothered turning on either of my laptops to try and run WoW on them since I got my iMac. Perhaps it would take a little time and energy to create the .dmg needed for the mac users out there, but if it broadens the client usage, then I don't see a problem.

Yet another mac user passing by, deeply dissapointed you don't have a mac version of the client !
Would making an addon that creates a profile file, say in XML, and the appropriate XML parser be alot of load for you ? I've seen this on another site and it could be a good compromise untill you have a mac version

If you dont have a mac version at this point you are:
1. Way old school
2. Not fully aware of your market
3. not capable of the programing ( get help )
4. don't care
we are growing and are strong (mac users)

Better add my vote to the list of Mac supporters. When I first saw this app, I thought, damn, thats pretty cool. However, when I hit 'Download Magelo Sync' only to find out it was an .exe file, I was heartbroken. More and more users these days are switching over to the mac platform. I'm sure someone out there would help you guys with the coding...
Please bring us a mac option (and if you're not working on it now, let us know that you're definitely thinking about it).
