Will we be able to search for upgrades to our gear? Right now, it seems to just be a way to make a sig for forums...
I don't see a way for me to check what recipes I am missing for my tradeskills. Will we be able to see our banks and guild banks? (printing lists of my banks was one of the most useful things from EQ Magelo)
Is any of that planned for the future?

Yes, we definitely have plans - BIG plans, too, for our WoW channel. Many of the features you've mentioned are in our plans for either the Beta 2 phase or the Live version. We have the knowledge of where to look for and display the bank information; however, it will take some time as we are currently working on some other surprises for everyone.
