I am trying to run Magelo on Windows 8 x64 and I am getting the following error:

No JVM could be found on your system
Please define EXE4J_JAVA_HOME
to point to an installed 64-bit JDK or JRE or download JRE from
www.java.com

I have installed the Java client but it gave me an error about it only working on the Desktop.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Grimgoth,

This error message indicates you need to update your Java on your computer.
An entry in the FAQ is available to show you the process to follow: How do I update my Java to get it to work with Magelo Sync?

Please let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

Hello Feadder,

Could you please double check that
  • you uninstalled correctly previous versions of Java, like Java 6.
  • you have Java 7 64 bits and Java 7 32 bits installed on your computer.

And then try again to run Magelo Sync. Thanks for keeping me posted.

I was having the same issue. I guess if you got to java.com on windows 8 it automatically downloads the 32 bit version because windows 8 doesnt always run in 64 bit.

I found a DL for the 64bit version and it seems to work now.
