I am starting to get highly frustrated that it is stil not able to sync my characters. I paid for premium the day before or the day of the patch thinking I could get my characters into Magelo and have yet to be able to use the features. Had I known I would have waited cause with the tenative patch on the 25th, Its starting to look like I could have saved a month of fees.
Can you please give us a status on this?

Yep, I am right there with you. I payed for it 6 days ago and have still not been able to use it. If nothing else, there should be something on the home page stating that it cannot be used right now. I surely would have held off until it was up and running.

Do you people actually read the messages?
There is a posted ETA of THIS WEEK.
You can still use Magelo - you can update manually if it's absolutely critical that you have it uptdated this instant.
This was a major update by SoE. The change in the AA tree might be something we've asked Jelan not to replicate visually in Magelo, but I'm sure you have all noted that the activation number of such abilities have changed in game which suggests quite a few code changes that Magelo will need to deal with.
So, there's an ETA of THIS WEEK. If it gets to Friday and there's no update, then you have reason to ask what's going on. In the meantime, you have a post about what's going on.
Read it.
Oh, and for the record, I renewed my Magelo last week, so I'm in exactly the same situation as those of you who reckon you bought it for the first time last week - except I've been using Magelo since 2001.

Personally, before purchasing anything, I read up on the product and especially the parts that inform me of what I can expect from it (in the case of Magelo, that would be downtime issues and such). I guess not everyone does so.

I've been manually updating my magelo since the downtime, of course the aa's are wrong since i've spent a bunch of points on aa's that aren't listed for my class on magelo yet. I've also been paying for magelo for a couple years, major patches take time to fix.

/echo the Magelo loyalists.
I pay for EQ, I accept that EQ has downtime.
I pay for Magelo, I accept that it will have MORE downtime (given short resources, no association with SoE)
Keep on chuggin', Jelan! You'll still have my dollar when the patch is put through!

You know, it wouldn't surprise me to find that EQ has had more downtime overall than Magelo

I wanted to keep you posted of the status of our patch, we are done with the new AA system and the Everquest patches, we are currently testing few things to make sure everything is ok.
We should be able to roll out our patch very soon and we will definitely do it before next week.
Stay tuned for the downtime/patch note announcement.

Are you implying "you people" are all idiots?
People who pay to use a product have every right at any time to question its (the products) status. You on the other hand have no right whatsoever to treat those people with the contempt you seem to.
Where you get the audacity to look down on others and inform them of what they may and may not do is beyond me.
So what? If you're happy with the state of play, fine. Just because you are happy, is not indicative that everyone else is happy.
Well goody for you. And this amazing revelation means what exactly?
If "you people" want to ask what the status is, they have the right to do so. You sir would be better off keeping your big condescending mouth shut. People like you, with attitudes like yours, tend in the norm to turn other people away from a product.

I'll take a stab at what he was implying(or not):
Creac: Do you people actually read the messages?
Kullail: Are you implying "you people" are all idiots?
I believe he is implying that the people he was talking about weren't reading the messages about the ETA of the new Magelo patch, since it's been stated at least 2x when approximately Magelo would be updated next.
Creac: There is a posted ETA of THIS WEEK. You can still use Magelo - you can update manually if it's absolutely critical that you have it uptdated this instant.
Kullail: People who pay to use a product have every right at any time to question its (the products) status. You on the other hand have no right whatsoever to treat those people with the contempt you seem to.
I fail to see the contempt in Creac's above statement. He is stating fact about how Magelo can still be used during "downtime" patches to update equipment manually. . And yes, you can surely ask for ETA's anytime you choose(even though those ETA's have been posted no less then 2 times already).
Creac: So, there's an ETA of THIS WEEK. If it gets to Friday and there's no update, then you have reason to ask what's going on. In the meantime, you have a post about what's going on. Read it.
Kullail: Where you get the audacity to look down on others and inform them of what they may and may not do is beyond me.
He isnt looking down on anyone. He stated the ETA(again, which is tentatively this week). He stated if the week passes with no updated Magelo, ask about the status of it(as we all would do so). He stated in the meantime, there is a thread(this thread) to read about the status etc of Magelo.
Creac: Oh, and for the record, I renewed my Magelo last week, so I'm in exactly the same situation as those of you who reckon you bought it for the first time last week
Kullail: So what? If you're happy with the state of play, fine. Just because you are happy, is not indicative that everyone else is happy.
If anyone is unhappy that Magelo has auto-synch downtime(which happens after EQ patches by the way for those new users of Magelo that didnt know), feel free to not use it. I will also renew Magelo when my time comes. Its the best product by far, and the auto-synch downtimes we experience with it really isnt the end of the world. If someone isnt happy with the product, simply dont use it. Its that easy.
Creac: - except I've been using Magelo since 2001.
Kullail: Well goody for you. And this amazing revelation means what exactly? If "you people" want to ask what the status is, they have the right to do so. You sir would be better off keeping your big condescending mouth shut. People like you, with attitudes like yours, tend in the norm to turn other people away from a product.
That amazing revelation means he is a long time user, and has patience longer then the life-span of a gnat, which apparently "some people" in here dont. If people cant wait 1-2 weeks to use auto-synch to get there equipment updated(because Magelo has to be recoded due to an EQ patch which is usually changed several times knowing SOE), then yeah, they probably need to drink a mocha and calm down, or just not use Magelo(thats sarcasm by the way in case you cant tell)..
The fact is, the downtime of Magelo has been stated at LEAST 2 times in this thread. It's also stated under the Latest News section on the front page of this website. If people that just bought the product didnt do any kind of research on what they were buying(which includes looking in the exact middle of the main webpage under Latest News), then that is their fault. It clearly states there that Magelo Update will be down & unusable during the patch time, and even includes a link to this thread about it. Next time do some research before buying. It'll save you alot of pain in real life.
regards,

I think the funny part is Kullail comes on here preaching to Creac about "Audacities" and "Condescending" and yet hes doing the EXACT SAME THING...
Look here Brother Kullail, if i wanted a sermon from you, i'd go to church. instead, my soul is burning in hell, and im content with that.
All Creac was doing was pointing out the OBVIOUS (or to some of "the people" on here, the oblivious) because they do the same shit EVERY SINGLE FRIGGIN PATCH!!! Whine, bitch, moan, rinse, repeat. Im kinda tired of it too.
It's like he said, if you need to update it so bad to show everyone your E-peen and L33t Staff of Uberness, then, by all means, manually update. I honestly just use this to get chicks, because chicks dig the Epic...

Hi Kullail,
It's really very simple.
Every time there's a patch people come and complain. You suggest they have a right to do so, but I contend that complaining about a lack of an ETA when one was posted and is not yet expired tends to diminish your "right" to make such a post. It's annoying. It's derogatory of the people who are working to produce the update because it is disrespectful not to take the time to read what they've written and to then complain and ask questions about something they have already commented about.
As to my rights to post; this is a private forum. We all have the privilege to post until such time as the owners tell us otherwise. We have no rights on these forums.
It's interesting that you consider me audacious and question my right to comment when in the same breath you're telling me I have no right to post. Hypocritical is a term that springs to mind.
You're right that my happiness is not indicative of others. However, if those people are unhappy because they failed to read and comprehend information already posted, that's hardly anyone's fault but their own. Having this pointed out to them may help them to be more considerate, careful and reasonable in the future. It may not. I remain hopeful, though.
So in short, people who fail to read the information provided and then complain about a lack of information are just annoying. They cause delays because they demand attention from the people who are trying to work to produce the update. They also tend to cause others who read only the latest posts to assume that there is a problem which in turn leads to more people complaining and wasting more time.
Jelan and co. have worked for literally years to bring us a fantastic product (one that was free for a very long time and still is for manual use) and they do not deserve the derision and abuse that is often hurled in their direction. They do not deserve the lack of respect from people who can not or will not read the information already provided.
