I've been messing with it for hours, and it won't open. It keeps pointing to java but I've done the whole process of removing and reinstalling java and everything their site says, and all their checkers say its working and updated.
Is it blocking me out because I'm not a paid member? That's the only thing I could see at this point, everything else is there.

I checked your account and I could see you synchronized 2 characters today, so I guess Magelo Sync is working now.
For your information, with a free account, Magelo Sync will synchronize your character's identity, guild and ranking information. Then, you will need to go in your characters page on the website to manually add your gear and other details.
The issue you described was probably linked with your Java installation. We usually recommend to install both Java 7 32-bit and Java 7 64-bit. You can learn more about how to update your Java reading this FAQ entry: http://eq.magelo.com/faq/view_entry.jspa?faqEntry=5297
