Hi balerius,
if you configured the client to "start minimized", you can delete the "sync.properties" file in Sync's directory to reset all your settings.
If it wasn't the case, it may be due to Sync being unable to connect to magelo.com, as we encountered several problems in the night, it maybe occured during the yesterday's downtime. Anyway, in that case, the window should show after 30 seconds.
The server has been up for 10 hours now, so if it still occurs, it may be a different problem.
