I've tried running Sync both as admin and normally. The program patched just fine (I haven't run it in a couple of weeks) and is detecting my characters, but has two problems:
1) There's no clicky link to bring up the current profile of the logged on character; and
2) When I try to sync, I get an error: "Unable to retrieve character's status." The program correctly shows then the toon was last synched.
I've tried zoning, logging off and on, changing toons - nothing works.
And the Zamboni shall be his instrument of righteousness and persuasion

Another user also reported this issue today.
We are looking into it and we will keep you posted.
