I am a premium user until Jul 24 2007 but when i launch the magelo update it does not show anything in the character select screen. Can any1 tell me why? Also lilstep is having the same problem and he is a premium user also.

What version of the JRE are you running? To find out, go to your Control Panel and launch the Java app. Click the About box.

I am having this same problem.
I followed the instructions here http://eq.magelo.com/forum/messages.jspa?topic=1135
and checked that I have the latest version of Java.
Still I cannot update characters as they do not show in window.
Please assist me.

Check the News post. It might be a rights issue for the Magelo Update program.

There was a patch with a newer eqgame.exe released dated 6th april 2007 and characters have not been detected since then, I can only presume that this is being looked at yes ?

Still not working. My husband can update my toons on his computer but mine simply won't give me the character to select. This is very frustrating. =(

If Magelo Update starts, you can be sure your Java environment/version is correct, there is nothing to worry about java at this step.
As for why it does not detect your characters, can you please paste your log file here, it should have a clue about what is going on...
To get your log file:
- Start Magelo Update
- Start Everquest and log in a character
- Minimize Magelo Update
- Right click on it in the systray and choose "Copy log to clipboard"
- Paste the log here with CTRL+V

Magelo Update runs out of Java's cache. "no magelo in java.library.path" seems to indicate either Magelo Update is not installed in the current Java cache or it's installed somewhere else unusable.
Leaving the Java Runtime Environment alone – meaning, without uninstalling it – try uninstalling Magelo Update by using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. Clear the Java cache of temporary files: Control Panel -> Java -> Settings -> Delete files -> OK. Now, click on Magelo Update in the left sidebar here and Launch Magelo Update. That'll make sure your Magelo Update client is fresh and in a clean environment.
