Magelo uses stats from the ammo slot. EQ does not. EQ uses +skill mods from ammo, but not regular stats, nor things like Clairvoyance etc. You can easily verify that in game. My profile: M - the dagger in the ammo slot gives me absolutely nothing in game. The stats on it are used only in Ranged slot.
